Gortnor Abbey Pier is situated on Lough Conn just outside Crossmolina, Co. Mayo.

Lough Conn & Loch Cullen are two large limestone lakes. They are connected by a channel that passes under the R310 regional road at Pontoon. Lough Conn means I lake of the Hound'. It is the 7th largest lake in Ireland spread over 14,000 acres. The Deel river flows into Loch Conn and exists lough Cullen at its southern end near Foxford., joining the River Moy which discharges into the Atlantic Ocean
